Comparators monitor one or two limit values which can be set throughout the entire scale range. Moving-iron measuring elements are used primarily in electrical power installations to measure alternating current and alternating voltage. They also display the r.m.s. value for non-sinusoidal variables in the frequency range between 15 and 100 Hz. Comparators can also be supplied with digital display.
